Wow where can you feel safe from infection if not in a hospital? Pigeon Patrol found this story and the troubles the UK is having.
Rats, cockroaches and pigeons were among the pests to be found in hospitals across the city during the last year. At Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital, pest controllers disposed of pigeons in the oncology unit, with 62 call-outs by the Trust over the last 12 months.
At Good Hope Hospital a dead pigeon was removed from an X-Ray filing room, as well as a cockroach found in a ward kitchen at Heartlands Hospital, both run by the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust.
Katherine Murphy, Chief Executive of the Patients Association, said that the information was a major safety concern.
“Each of our hospitals has a contract with Ecolab, who provide effective, pro-active pest elimination.” A spokesman from University Hospitals Birmingham Trust, which includes the QE Hospital added: “The Trust attaches the greatest importance to infection control and in doing so ensures that our patients, staff and visitors are exposed to minimum risk relating to pest infestation.”
I think that the hospitals could use Pigeon Patrol’s service and most of it’s pigeon deterrent products including the bird spikes, bird netting, 4-S Gel and the new Ultrasonic repellers to help ward off the pigeons.

So here is another company tell you what is the best pigeon deterrent is: Let’s have a peak!
The Bird spike system plays a very important role in preventing the birds from roosting on the ledges. Tips are blunt which don’t hurt the birds and also prevents them from creating the nest. Wire system is also used in warding off the troubles. Tensioned stainless steel wire is an effective barrier for birds and would go a long way in providing amazing results.
Yea they got this one right!!!
Bird blaster is a control device with Dopler radar and an air compressor. Hose is installed around the perimeter of the building or the billboard. Joint feature of the solenoid keeps the air flow to the surgical pipe closed. When a bird flies in the vicinity, the radar transits the information. Hose opens up and a loud noise is emitted that scares the birds away.
Pricy and the city can get you to turn it off for good!!!
Where is the 4-S Gel and the Ultrasonic Repellers????? I am sure that a few of these products will work on certain areas but to be in this industry you have to be one with the pigeon and adapt. That;’s what we do here at Pigeon Patrol Products and Services. We also manufacture all of our own products, from bird spikes, pigeon spikes to netting right down to our sound and ultrasonic repellers we are the logical choice for all your bird control needs.

Ho HO this a a whopper of a story that Pigeon Patrol came across :
‘Pigeon Lady of Pimlico’ Nadia Lee, 67, spent 25 years fattening pigeons in the exclusive London

Here Chicky Chicky!!
borough, much to the dismay of locals.
She became renowned for scooping stricken birds up into her Gucci handbag and taking them to her home and then rubbed the birds in lavender.
Lee, who suffers from multiple personality disorder, was deemed unfit to plead to the charges.
The problem is the feeding of pigeons on a huge scale, which causes serious disturbance to those around her.
‘I then catch them in a net, which I carry with me everywhere I go.
‘Then I put them in Gucci bags hanging off my Mamas & Papas pram. I take them home and take the string off their feet, rub them in lavender and treat them with homeopathy.
Wow not I have seen it all. We need to send over some bird spikes or Ultrasonic repellers for this area to use to help ward off their pigeon problem.

Where did Tweety go!
Most people call Pigeon Patrol to get rid of their pigeon problems, however I am sure that this lady would not have us on her speed dial.
A Vancouver Island woman is devastated after her pet pigeon Tweety was taken to an animal rescue center, which now refuses to give the bird back.
Chemainus resident Sandy Bird, 72, rescued the pigeon from near death last March. He has lived as a member of her family ever since, accompanying Bird everywhere she went, even on car trips.
Last week, Tweety flew out of the car, but returned to the wrong vehicle. The owner of that vehicle, Mike Toole, took the bird to the BC SPCA Wild Animal Rehabilitation Centre – Wild ARC – in Metchosin.
Bird said wildlife officials tell her Tweety is better off with pigeons, but it feels like she’s lost a member of the family.
“He’s probably the most lonely, lost little guy in the world. He’s more than just a bird,” she said.
Despite this, Senior Wildlife Rehabilitator Christina Carrieres said Bird did not have the proper permits.
“It is illegal to possess any type of wildlife without a permit. They are protected under the Wildlife Act,” said Carrieres.
Wildlife officials plan to transfer Tweety to another wildlife centre soon, where he can live out his days in captivity.
While most of our clients call Pigeon Patrol for all of their bird spike , bird spike, bird netting, 4-s Gel and Ultrasonic repellers all bird deterrents, we wish the best to this lady and hope one day she is reunited with Tweety.

ANIMAL charities have reacted furiously over plans to slaughter Mottingham station’s pigeon population which have been persistently pooing on commuters.
It comes after a station platform vendor says the birds are ruining her trade as customers dodge the birds’ bombs which have landed in cups of coffee and pose a health and safety risk.
Southeastern, which is responsible for cleaning the platforms, are planning a cull to get rid of the pigeons before fitting meshing to prevent any more roosting.
But animal charities say the move is “cruel” “unnecessary” and likely to worsen the problem which could be avoided by using non-lethal deterrents such as anti-perching spikes.
Speaking of the ongoing problem, owner of Shell’s Kiosk Michelle Hill, said: “I am losing customers.
“Three people got pooed on this morning. “It is getting beyond a joke now. “It is like they are having a party up on the roof.”
Officer Diane Roberts added: “The RSPCA is opposed to the killing of wildlife where it is possible to humanely deter them instead.
A Southeastern spokeswoman said: “Pigeons nesting at the station are making a huge mess and are an issue for customers, tenants and staff. Our priority is to provide a clean environment for our passengers and the businesses at the station.”
Pigeon Patrol would try the following bird deterrents – Anti-roosting spikes or bird spikes or pigeon spikes – Bird netting –
UltraSonic and Sonic devices and 4-S gel. Good luck on your bird control and your pigeon problems.

Pigeon Patrol wishes all the best in the new year to New Bedford — Southeastern Regional Transit Authority. The officials are taking long and short-term steps to reduce problems caused by pigeons roosting in the rafters of the downtown bus terminal.
They will brighten the appearance of the terminal, reduce the noise and eliminate much of the problem of pigeons roosting inside the terminal, he said.
“It will drastically reduce the amount of space for them to stand on. It will be much more difficult for them to hang out there,” he said.
Rousseau said SRTA’s maintenance staff regularly battles the problem of pigeon droppings by power washing the pavement. However, the work has to be done at night because of the steady flow of buses during the day and he said crews have not been able to wash it lately because of the cold weather.
“Today (Friday) was the first day our guys were able to do that,” he said of the powerwashing.
I do agree that taking steps like installing bird deterrents lie bird spikes or pigeon spikes will help to control the pigeons and reduce the pigeon problems. For the whole story click the link below:
