Once again, the pigeon dilemma surrounding the Scottish Parliament and its pigeons has risen. An East Lothian Company could have saved the Holyrood Chiefs at least 50,000 dollars from spending attempts in scaring off pigeons from the Holyrood building. The East Lothian Company said they approached the parliament with Mock Falcons, which are electronic birds used to scare off birds, but were ignored.
The use of Bird Free 4-S Gel could have been an inexpensive and easier solution than all combined. Pigeon Patrol’s 4-S Gel is easy to install and when any UV light makes contact with the gel, the birds see it as fire. Simple?! Could have saved more than 50,000 dollars if you ask me.

Pigeons just love new things, Pigeon Patrol Staff came across this bridge of a situation.
For some reason, pigeons have marked off a very clear patch of the new Hastings bridge as their own. They apparently have no interest in spending time on any other part of the bridge. Rather, they congregate on the northbound side of the bridge on the arch about halfway up.
Minnesota Department of Transportation bridge project manager Steve Kordosky. “I don’t know why they have selected that particular spot.”
Kordosky thinks that since that part of the bridge faces south, it warms up faster than the rest of the bridge.
Well who knows why birds do what they do!! I am sure that if some of Pigeon Patrol’s Ultra-Flex bird spikes or pigeon spikes were installed, or some of the new 4-S Gel or even an Ultrasonic sound Repeller that would be enough to deter the birds from the bridge.

Pigeon Patrol wonders if the Council staff will follow through with their threats?
There are large numbers of pigeons that sit on roof canopies of shops and in pathways, particularly Bowen Square and Foundry Place.
Apart from looking unsightly, spores from dried bird droppings can spread diseases similar to pneumonia and influenza if they are inhaled as dust and carried by the wind.
The new signs ask shoppers not to feed the birds and warn them that they could face a fine or prosecution for doing so.
David Cribbin said: “Feeding the birds is technically littering and can cause a potential health hazard.
“The new signs in the town center make it clear not to feed the birds and that people could be fined or prosecuted for doing so. However we hope that it won’t come to that and that these signs will act as an effective deterrent.”
Pigeon Patrol offers clients a variety of services for Bird Control that will suit the needs of their facility. Pigeon Patrol products have solved pest bird problems in industrial, commercial, and residential settings by using safe and humane bird deterrents with only bird and animal friendly solutions.

Pigeon Patrol wishes all the best in the new year to New Bedford — Southeastern Regional Transit Authority. The officials are taking long and short-term steps to reduce problems caused by pigeons roosting in the rafters of the downtown bus terminal.
They will brighten the appearance of the terminal, reduce the noise and eliminate much of the problem of pigeons roosting inside the terminal, he said.
“It will drastically reduce the amount of space for them to stand on. It will be much more difficult for them to hang out there,” he said.
Rousseau said SRTA’s maintenance staff regularly battles the problem of pigeon droppings by power washing the pavement. However, the work has to be done at night because of the steady flow of buses during the day and he said crews have not been able to wash it lately because of the cold weather.
“Today (Friday) was the first day our guys were able to do that,” he said of the powerwashing.
I do agree that taking steps like installing bird deterrents lie bird spikes or pigeon spikes will help to control the pigeons and reduce the pigeon problems. For the whole story click the link below:

Take over two hundred man hours to install pigeon netting or bird netting, a few more for the bird spikes or pigeon spikes and then add in an Ultrasonic sound unit or Bird repeller and you have one clean tourist attraction.
Pigeon Patrol Products and Services was proud to help Vancouver’s BC Place with their pigeon problem.
